2019: A Year in Review
2019 was a great year! What else can I say? So, as the clock winds down on the second decade of the 21st century, I want take stock of all the good that happened over the past 12 months:
I moved into my own place.
It’s working out great.
I went to Krakow.
It was an awesome trip.
I drove a Tesla Model 3.
So fast!
I spent some quality time with my family.
Always grateful.
I published a few stories.
Nice to see people appreciate my work.
I applied to Clarion West.
Fourth time’s the charm.
And many more……
2020 brings some uncertainty. It’s going to be harder to freelance in California due to AB5. To be honest, I was kind of freaked out about it before I did some research. As a result, I submitted paperwork to create Broderick Writer LLC, which should allow me to continue working with my current clients and possibly attract new ones. I’ve overcome more difficult challenges, which gives me the confidence to greet the new year with optimism rather than dread.
Just like a year ago, I’ll be on the lookout for full-time opportunities in spring 2020. Granted, I love what I do, but it never hurts to keep my ear to the ground. After all, I do have another year of experience under my belt. There’s a lot of well-paying positions out there, and if the price and benefits are right, it might be time for a change. A part of me hopes so. A part of me hopes not. As always, we’ll see, and in the meantime, I’ll do what I can to keep Broderick Writer growing.
Happy New Year!
